Wilson Street Records is an independent record label situated in Northern California and founded by Jake Stillman in 2018.
The mission is to empower artists within our vibrant North Bay music scene to achieve greater success by investing in projects full of potential but have trouble producing and marketing their music alone. The goal is to create lasting partnerships with artists through transparency, mutual benefit/agreement, and by providing the strategic backend business support that can be a challenge for artists to learn and employ on their own. We hope to one day see a community of artists within the Wilson Street Records network that work together to enrich our local music scene and provide support for the mutual goal of creating music as a sustainable and lasting career.
Music producer and recording engineer Jake Stillman began Wilson Street Records in 2018 as a way to help artists he worked with in the studio have greater success in the broader music industry. It began with helping artists independently release their music – tackling some of the challenges around marketing, contracts, distribution, copyright, PR, publishing, and all those other things that get in the way of being a creative. After graduating with a Master’s Degree focusing on music business and audio production education from San Francisco State University in 2019 he formally launched Wilson Street Records.
We help artists find their voice, develop their brand, and create a consistent, compelling vibe that speaks to their true artist identity allowing a deeper and more valuable connection with fans.
Currently working with the San Francisco based music rights manager On Record to gain placements in television and film for our music catalog.
We have direct deals through AmpSuite with all major streaming platforms and facilitate production/distribution of physical formats such as CD and Vinyl when appropriate for a release.
Wilson Street Records works with artists to design and produce merchandise, a crucial revenue stream for artists and labels in the age of streaming.
We leverage direct-to-fan marketing to build audiences affordably, utilizing well planned release strategies and creating social media campaigns designed to increase artist fan base and build interest in artist content.
For each release, Wilson Street Records engages in PR campaigns that include radio play, interviews, playlisting, blogs and/or traditional publications.
